STARBOARD iGo Inflatable SUP 2022 ZEN
Simple, uncomplicated, lots of fun for the whole family. That's what the Starboard SUP iGO stands for. The straight outline helps you learn the correct paddling technique and the wide tail provides plenty of stability and safety. This makes the first steps on the SUP board child's play.

Welding Technology
Since 2019, Starboard produces all inflatables with laminated rails (edges). In a complex technology, the upper and lower sides are welded together with the rails to form a single unit. Without glue, because glue doesn't last forever. Edges that leak over time are now a thing of the past.
Laminated rails are so special because it is technically very complex to weld the round shape of the bow and stern edges. Together with the woven layers of the deck and underwater hull (dropstitch), Starboard hereby sets the benchmark for durable, dimensionally stable and high-quality inflatable SUP boards.
Woven dropstitch
After 5 years of development, we take our inflatable construction to the next level. Light and stable, but at the same time stiff and responsive was the goal - and it was a long way until we could really implement all claims.
From 2020, our drop stitch material on Deluxe Double Chamber and Deluxe Single Chamber is woven rather than knitted, allowing it to expand diagonally only. This means less raw material is needed and expansion is only possible diagonally. The result is a much stiffer board because more pressure can be absorbed. The amount of material wasted is also significantly lower.
Zen construction:

The new ZEN boards have a single layer LINEAR dropstitch construction and welded rails, but are stiffer and more stable than ever before. The dropstitch material was developed in cooperation between Starboard SUP and its producers and is ONLY used in our boards.
The edges are welded into a single layer using a new technology. This makes them significantly more durable, environmentally friendly and lighter than commercially available glued rails. Laminated rails are so special because it is technically very complex to weld the round shape of the bow and tail edges.
The ZEN range is also equipped with galvanised 2000D rail bands for even more stiffness and performance.
